Helping Hands Penan with Patch.
This item is handmade by one of the Penan, the aboriginal semi-nomadic tribe of the Borneo Rainforest. Their goods are originally made from rattan, bamboo and native hardwood. However these natural resources are hard to get these days as the forests that sustain them are destroyed. The Penan women, who are skillful weavers, nowadays mainly use PVC material to make these beautiful, durable and practical products. The proceeds from the sale goes back to help the tribe in educational, social and economic needs and development.
